utah....finally!

this is journaling, so you might not want to read all of it!

so for conference weekend paisley and i went to utah with chris's mom, jan and her friend, kathy. she was heading to slc for some training and it was a great opportunity to see friends and family, although it wasn't close to enough time to see everyone. we left wednesday afternoon and drove to vegas, paisley did really well, but had a bit of a hard time sleeping that night. it was so fun to see tommy and amy and there cute home. we left in the morning and it took ALL day to get to slc, road tripping has never been my favorite thing. we didn't have to stop too often with paisley, just a few extra times for feeding. she did remarkably well. that night we stayed at grandma petersons, paisley did a little bit better, i got more sleep because we got some ear plugs! (any movement or heavy breathing from paisley wakes me up.)

friday morning we woke up and had a relaxing morning watching the snow fall, yes snow fall! after paisley's morning nap she and i left jan in slc and headed down to provo to see friends. first we met with desiree at rumbi's. it was delicious, love the salads and love the sweet potato fries:)here you can see paisley crawling on rumbi's table i loved getting to talk with desiree and just enjoy her company. afterwards we shopped for a little bit, i picked up a few great things and we both just about died laughing in the card section in papaya--too funny!!

then paisley and i headed to laura's house. i loved seeing her and meeting maggie for the first time! paisley loved playing with amos, but unfortunately was exhausted after our fun day and fell asleep before most of my friends got there for the evening. i had a blast chit chatting and laughing with old friends laura, eric, desiree, chuck, josh, miles and kendra.

saturday morning paisley and i drove back to slc while listening to conference and made it there at the break just in time to get pedicures with aunti steph and jan.

saturday night during priesthood session the gals went to quilted bear for some shopping, paisley got to meet the easter bunny. she was unsure for a minute and then all smiles!

sunday in between sessions one of my best friends michelle and her husband spencer came up from provo to say hi. it was so great to see her if only for a short visit, she is prego and super cute!! i am so excited for her little boy to come:)

sunday night i got to see some other great friends, andrea, natalie, and kevin at desiree and chuck's house. we played cranium(andrea and i won-word to our skills) and caught up, it was great:)

monday we left early and drove all day, paisley did surprisingly well and didn't really lose it until the last 1/2 and hour home. she is such a champ!! we had a good trip but were very happy to be home to the sunshine and my hubby!

paisley's 6 month portraits

ok, literally a month a go paisley turned 6 month and we took these shots. after a series of ridiculous events, i am FINALLY able to post them, took forever! i am seriously behind on the blog and because it is a family journal that i plan to have printed off at the year end, i am going to do my best to get it caught up.(and hopefully before we leave on vacation this weekend! wish me luck)

jan once again did a great job and i thought i came up with some cute props, mainly the subject is just adorable so the pictures are always cute:) it was really hard for me to decide, i think we have 150 pictures or so, here are just a few of my favs:

paisley smiles big all the time, but we had a hard time getting her to give us one. her little smile is still cute though:)

paisley had been sick so she was almost 7 months when she had her 6 month well check appointment, but here are her stats:

27 1/2 inches tall (90th %)

17.9 lbs (73rd%)

she is still a tall girl, yeah!

here are a few videos of our cutie. the first is the classic lemon experiment. apparently she loves citrus. lucky we live in southern california.

yes, she is crawling, this video is a bit more then a week old and she does it even better every day, it is so fun!

paisley loves to "run" with daddy, i love her little high knees. she is such a joy!

catching up--birthdays

wow, a lot has been going on and i am way behind, so here is the first effort at getting caught up. last month paisley turned 6 months old..has it really already been that long?? i have been into baking lately as previously mentioned and made her a cake (like she was going to eat any of it!) it was fun, and turned out much better then a cake i made a few weeks before thanks to all the food network cake shows i have been soaking up:)

i also got a bit crafty with paisley's outfit, it was fun and easy to make the tutu, headband and some adaptations to the wings. you'll see more of this outfit when i post her 6 month portraits.

paisley has been such a joy, these last 6 months have been wonderful and i can barely remember what our life was like before we had our little beauty. she is moving more and more and learning new things all the time.
the next weekend was my 26th birthday! yeah, happy birthday to me:) i had a great birthday weekend that started with getting together with andrea on friday. paisley and i headed on over to her place where she had some yummy carrot cake cup cakes waiting.

it was such a beautiful day so we plopped paisley in the stroller and walked over to the always awesome beef n' bun-yummy! nothing like pb & chocolate shakes! it was so nice to spend time with andrea and enjoy the great weather that san diego offers.

friday night chris and i went to dinner with jan and robin at one of my local favorites, dominic's. they have tasty italian food, the bread basket is fantastical!

saturday morning started out my absolute favorite way by heading to the farmer's market for crepes. seriously the next time you are here we have to go get some, they are so good!! we had a egg, bacon, spinach, tomato, etc one and a nutella and mixed fruit one, it was so good my mouth is watering right now.

then chris got me a bouquet of flowers and a chair massage, it was wonderful!

after paisley's morning nap we headed to lake mira mar so that i could ride my bike. i have been wanting to go for a ride since paisley was born and was so pumped to finally do it. of course the weather was perfect and paisley rode in the stroller while chris roller bladed. we switched about 2/3 of the way around the 5 mile loop and boy was it tough to roller blade and push the stroller, chris looked pretty cute on the pink bike though!

sunday i made a birthday cake for myself in the shape of a purse. it wasn't perfect, but it turned out pretty good i thought. i had fun trying new things and hope to make more fun cakes soon! overall i had a great birthday weekend, now i just need to get use to being 26-it sounds so old!
