Happy Birthday Carson!

On President's Day Paisley and I headed to a park party for Carson's 2nd Birthday. Paisley loved helping open presents, eating pizza and cupcakes, and going down the slide over and over and over again. So glad that we live close to them and could celebrate with cute Carson. We sure love him!

Our First SeaWorld Visit

Our Christmas gift from Jan and Robin this year was year passes to SeaWorld for the 3 of us. We had our first visit after our morning in SeaPort Village. Right when we got there the Shamu show was starting, so we headed straight there. Paisley loved it! She turned to us and said "look, orcas'!" thank you Diego for making my 3 year old so animal smart.

We played in the Sesame Street area, went to the Turtle Cave, the Shark Experience, and the Dolphin Show. We had the best time! Paisley loved it all.

Lastly, we waited in line for one ride. It was just like Dumbo at DisneyLand, so of course Paisley loved it. The ride people kept announcing/looking at me that if pregnant you weren't supposed to ride, but I mean honestly, I think this ride is safe for me and baby. I am so excited for a whole year of SeaWorld fun!

This is what happens when we play all day:

Aunt Lany & Uncle Jim visit

In February, my mom's oldest sister came to San Diego with her husband for business. Aunt LeeAnn and Uncle Jim live in Indiana and we rarely get to see them, it was a wonderful time! We see quite a bit more of Chris's family(who are all great and we love) then my family, so I really loved seeing some of my family, people who have known me more then 5 years, ya know?? We met them downtown and went to SeaPort Village, ate a yummy lunch and then enjoyed the frenzy of a Saturday in SeaPort. We stopped off at the carousel where Chris got a leg workout going up and down while Paisley held tightly around his neck.

All of us! What a fun morning, and so great to see family!

The 5 year itch

Seriously?? 5 years? That just seems crazy to me, so wild that we have been married that long. Chris planned a fun day with a mani/pedi for me and dinner in Del Mar, however my body had something else in mind. I felt super sick that day, icky, yucky, tired, and SICK. Luckily after a mid-morning nap I was able to get a pedicure(no manicure, I couldn't sit that long) and then was able to get ready enough for a dinner out. We stayed in town, rather then head to Del Mar and tried out a Mexican restaurant. It was really tasty, especially the homemade chips and salsa. I made it through most of dinner, but then developed a super nasty itch and rash all over my neck, ears, and sides of my face. Not exactly what we had hoped for, but we rolled with it and watched a movie at home. It was nice to not have to put Pais to bed, she had a sleepover at the Jensen's. I feel so lucky to have Chris as a husband, he is such an all star of a man. Love him!

This picture is actually not from that night, it was about 2 weeks later when the rash and itch came back, so annoying! I got lab work done, but nothing came up. My obgyn thinks it might be an allergic reaction to earrings, so I have been avoiding those and it has mostly stayed away, at least not been so severe. I am hoping that it is some random pregnancy thing and will be gone when baby comes...

Valentine's Day Massacre

We woke up Valentine's Day to chicken feathers all over the yard and coop and missing 5 of our chickens. It was a sad day. Paisley and I totally cried a bit. We had been leaving the door open to the coop some nights, in fact we left it open for the whole of our Utah trip and all the chickens were just fine when we got back. But this night, a coyote was on the loose and after our chickens. Both Chris and I were shocked at how sad we felt, how responsible and bad we felt about it. I especially was shocked by my feelings because I don't really like the chickens, just the eggs, but it was a sad day. At first we thought we only had one that survived, but Paisley and I went on a hunt and found 2 others that were hiding. They were a bit beat up, and super skittish, they didn't eat much that day, but we were so happy to have 3 left instead of 1. Chris got home from work and cleaned up the feathers and buried one of the dead chickens that the coyote left. Paisley now loves to tell everyone about the coyote that took and our chickens and "smashed" the black chicken as she says it.
Moving on to happier things, Paisley had a Valentine's Day playschool party and was super excited to make and deliver valentine's to all her friends. We painted her nails pink sparkly for the special occasion. We also made a beach Valentine for our family. We sure love our friends and families!
