alumni water polo game

chris and his 3 brothers all played/are currently playing for the poway high water polo team. the alumni game was during the Christmas break and all 4 boys played in it. it was pretty crazy because A LOT of old guys showed up, i'm talking classes from the 80's-so it was chaotic at best for them. Zach is currently a junior so he played on the varsity team against his brothers on the alumni team.
josh and a time when zach and jason were guarding each other.

chris smiling at paisley and taking the ball down the court.

it was cold and the game took forever, but paisley did pretty well.

more of my handsome husband.

all the guys who played. varsity ended up barely winning, i think the alumni could have won if they had a coach, someone to help organize them all. it was a fun time watching them all play water polo and listening to stephanie yell things from the sidelines-that girl knows the game! (she should since she played too)

and with that my friends and i am officially in 2010! yahoo, i WILL catch up one of these days:)

new sweatsuit

paisley got some new clothes for Christmas and one of them was this super cute sweat suit. i realize that most of the time i take pictures of her she is in just 'house' clothes like a onesie or something, just she really does have lots of cute clothes and i am trying to take more pictures of her when she is actually dressed. i dress paisley like i dress: at home it is sweats and t-shirt, and then when we got out we get dressed. isn't she a doll??

christmas!

we had a wonderful Christmas this year, paisley got it way more then last year which was fun. she was sort of interested in the gifts, but she was really interested in unwrapping the gifts.
here she is looking at the reversible purse that i made her and her lift-the-flap book.

concentrating on reading. or at least pointing to things and making a noise like reading.

paisley loved carrying around the craft scissors, anything with a handle the girl loves to carry on her arm.

helping daddy, chris humoring me and acting super excited about a new pair of jeans. he didn't have much to open because he got one big present, more on that in a later post.

loving the Christmas chaos.

i love this baby!

make it gifts

another jensen tradition is opening one gift on Christmas eve. each year we draw names of one person in the family who we have to make a gift for, that is the gift opened on Christmas eve. this year we had jason, we made him a sweet university of utah blanket-somehow i didn't get a picture of it though, sad i know. stephanie and dj had us and they gave us a gorgeous picture of the portland temple that jan had taken. they also made paisley a super cute purse with "p" on it. needless to say she loved it!

jason carved carson into wood for a cute decoration for steph and dj.

jensen nativity

every year the jensen's do a live nativity on christmas eve. this year chris played a wise man, paisley was a cow, and i was the narrator. it was fun to have so many little kids at the house this year, paisley loved the cow costume for about 5 minutes and then was over it.

chris offering paisley as a gift.

the whole gang: what a fun group!

princess puzzle

my friend katherine does something for Christmas every year with her kids that i think i will have to use in the future. they give away 5 things before Christmas, and for Christmas they get 5 gifts. i love this! makes it easier and not so over the top. anywho, this year her little girl had outgrown a princess peg puzzle and paisley was lucky enough to get it. it had different skirts and tops to mix and match. she loves it!

and of course i love it, i am all about teaching her early the importance of matching/coordinating her clothes! [haha, joking...but not really]

claire and dan get married!

a good family friend, claire got married the week of Christmas. they had a lovely reception at a museum in la jolla. we had a fun evening talking to friends and mingling among the art.
chris and paisley with oliver and evan.[one of chris's best buds] oliver is a tank, he is only a month or two older then paisley but the boy has his dad's genes--big genes.

the three of us.

cute steph was a bridesmaid.

visiting the huish house

every year, a family that is in chris's parents stake totally deck out their house and let people come tour it. i wasn't sure what i was expecting, but i was never expecting what we found. these people literally move out all of their belongs and cover the inside and outside of their house and lawn with Christmas stuff. it is pretty incredible. in the middle of the driveway is a big sleigh with a santa and mrs. claus to take pictures with, they have free hot chocolate, cookies, candy canes and small toys for all that attend. we happened to choose the monday before Christmas and it was packed, probably 1,000 people there, it was insane. these pictures don't do all their effort justice, it was magical and so fun to go see.

this massive thing is set up in the yard to the side of the house.

two of the rooms from the house tour.

paisley was too distracted by all the lights.

paisley got a doll as her toy and she loved it as you can see.

swinerton christmas party

this year the swinerton Christmas party was at a music venue/bar in solana beach. it was fun, they had lots of yummy food and there was gambling tables set up. chris spend all of our "money" (they gave each person chips at the door) at the craps table. i had a good time learning more about the game and gambling-its really fun when there is no stress that you might lose money. then, they had a raffle, which you could buy tickets for with all your gambling winnings.
all of this was every enjoyable, but of course my favorite thing about the party was the free photo booth:
[we weren't quite ready for that second shot!]

i love photo booths, they are so fun. the last photo is my favorite. i love chris, he is so fun and super handsome to boot!

the quilt rack

is paisley's newest and favorite hiding place. its a good one too, took me a few minutes to find her. luckily, she likes to be found, and soon enough i saw these little blue eyes and cheeks peeking out at me:

what a fun little lady.

isn't she so cute? i love my job, she is so much fun!

santa baby

found this hat in the dollar section of target, love that section. paisley wore it most of the week before Christmas, many times on her own accord. she got comments anywhere we went. another nice thing about san diego is that babies aren't everywhere, like utah. so everyone loves to stop and smile and talk to her, we feel so special. and yes she is carrying a vs bag like purse, anything she can put on her arm, the girl loves. i think i might have to start a handbag savings account for her. {joking, at least part way}

weather outside is frightful??

its almost Christmas and although i am not super use to it being warm i can't complain. this year especially i am appreciating the sun shine and the beautiful blue skies. i love it when i walk in the morning, it really is beautiful here and i am so a san diegan in the fact that anything below 65 and i feel like it is freezing.

i miss my friends in utah. i miss some of the food in utah. i miss some of the shopping in utah. i DO NOT miss the snow/freezing temperatures of utah:)

cookie exchange

this year my friend jen hosted a cookie exchange party, a first for me, and i loved it. such a clever idea, you take 3 dozen cookies(all the same kind) and some extras for everyone to eat. then leave with a variety of three dozen cookies from all the ladies. sweet huh?? so on the invite it says there will be a best Christmas outfit contest and to dress accordingly, so....of course i wore this little number:

pretty awesome huh? i found the dress at marshalls in the clearance, and yes the sequin neck is attached and was super uncomfortable. don't' worry i already had the shoes and cropped jacket. {you love me, don't deny it}
my bud heather went with the 80's Christmas theme, she is so fun!

the whole group. apparently heather and i were the only one who got the message, whats with all the black?? these ladies don't know me all that well yet, but those of you who do know that i almost never turn down the opportunity to dress up! someday i will have to post pics of desiree, andrea and i, we dressed up all the time and we rocked it! what a fun night, maybe someday i will have a house and can host a party too..........maybe.
