just because

can't remember why i took these pictures with chris, probably just because i felt like it.
the surprised look.

the cheessy happy look.

normal. yeah!

notice that i look practically the same in all the pictures. because as a girl, i am trained to be picture ready at the drop of a pin. and when all your friends want a picture with their camera, you learn to hold a pose.

favorite things

so right before thanksgiving my friend heather hosted a favorite things party-it was so much fun! what you do is find something that you love that costs $6-$8, then buy 5 of them. (ie-a favorite water bottle, or mascara or anything!) then you come to the party, explain why it is a favorite thing and draw 5 names of ladies who are there to get your item. then your name gets drawn 5 times and you leave with 5 favorite things from the other women there.
before i headed out i wanted a pic with pais and i because it is rare that i am in a picture with her when my hair and make up are all done! i love the cheesy smile one, isn't she cute??

i can't remember how(blast being so behind!) but for some reason my friend melanie and another gal ended up arm wrestling at the party-so funny! it ended in a draw, but it sure was entertaining to watch.

the whole group, there were a lot of ladies there, a lot of yummy food and a lot of favorite things. we also filled out a survey of "favorite things" and then guessed who wrote it down. it was a fun night, and great to be out with girls for a change. dont' worry i took full advantage of it and stayed until 11:30pm-what??! i am crazy i know, i felt like i was in college again.

the amazing host heather and i. i seriously want to be here when i grow up. i love how she decorates, i love all the yummy and beautiful things that she bakes and she is hysterical! love this lady! thanks for a fun night:)

little sleeper

i can't remember why now, but one time in november we had to wake paisley up to go somewhere. it is one of my very least favorite things to do to wake up a sleeping baby, especially my sleeping baby. i mean, just look at her, so peaceful, she is so sweet!

how her knees aren't super sore every morning i do not know. i think it is so cute and funny that she loves to sleep with her little tush in the air. i guess i can't knock it until i try it, but to me it doesn't look all that comfortable.

this NEVER gets old...

for one of us, for me it does. i feel like i lived in the dr office waiting room in november, for one reason or another we were there a lot. luckily, paisley just loves the toys on the wall and didn't tire of it at all. maybe if the toys catered more to adults(like a pedicure station?? that would be awesome right??) then i wouldn't be so tired of that place, but for some reason for a pediatrician office it is all kid toys. go figure.

giving me the sad face because our named was called and we have to leave the toys.

visiting andrea

the week after we got back from oregon, andrea invited us over for dinner. it was great to see a good friend, especially when that friend is as fun as andrea. paisley loved reading with auntie andrea. (and when i say loved, i mean she sat in her lap for at least 3 minutes consecutively)

different toys are the best! paisley loved the plethora of old cell phones.

everyone getting a bit of reading in.

thanks for having us over andrea, we love seeing you and spending time with you:) you are so awesome!

my busy little hands

made this cute dress! i got the idea from my friend's blog and it was super easy. it is made from 2 dish towels, which i bought at target for $2.50 and then the ribbon for another $2. it takes no time at all, so i added the cute little pom pom border. i also picked up her leggings in the dollar section of target. i think it turned out pretty dang cute, i will definitely do more of these in the future.

and with that i am in november-yahoo! maybe i will be in december before the end of the year:)

halloween

we flew in from oregon on halloween afternoon. we were pretty tired, but we had a little bit of halloween fun by going to dinner and then hanging out with the jensen's and neighbors. paisley was a cute little bumble bee. she is a good sport.

riding in the car seat was a little tight, and look at that cute stinger!

paisley with sadee and jayla, friends from aerobics that dropped by.

so cute!

having a laugh with uncle zach.

the rest of the oregon visit

after the funeral, chris, paisley and i were blessed to be able to stay in oregon for a week. we helped my dad finish up old projects, sort through, get rid of, and organize most of the house. paisley loved playing on the stairs to the attic, she climbed all the way up them without any help. apparently she will be a climber, like her daddy.
one morning we had a karaoke session with the kiddos. it was awesome. everyone got in on the action. paisley most ate the microphone rather then sing, but she did breathe heavily into it.

guitar and recorder for the two hard core girls.

chris totally belted out some country tunes and paisley, tristan and riley working on the guitar.

while there, i was able to see my name sake-deveney. it was odd to have another deveney, but great to see her as it has been years since it has happened. she is such a kind, fun lady, i can totally see why my mom named me after her.

being that it was fall in oregon, there were a lot of leaves to rake up. one day the kids decided to "help" grandpa. they are so cute!

tristan and riley enjoying the fall and jill modeling ethan's halloween mask.

one of my favorite treats is a costco ice cream bar dipped with nuts. sadly, in california they were discontinued (**UPDATE** i went to costco last week and the ice cream bars were miraculously back!**) so i was so happy to get one while in oregon. yum-o!

the last half of the week we squeezed in a quick trip to our family cabin. it was awesome. it totally poured the day we drove there, but the next day was gorgeous. it has been awhile since i have been to oregon in the fall, and i was so happy to be there to see all the beautiful colors. i love the fall in oregon!

the one...the only... mo's. OF COURSE i would not be 30 minutes from mo's and not go. we drove over for dinner from the cabin and it was so worth it. i love that clam chowder!

chris was super pumped to be there while the salmon were running. he caught this beauty and i am pretty sure that was enough to make the whole trip worth while for him.

gorgeous, beautiful scenery. i love the cabin.

more fishing.

i have a picture when i am about this size playing on this exact chair. cool huh?

family time down by the alsea river.

my brother was able to make it down for one afternoon to fish some. paisley got her first touch of the alsea river. just getting her ready for the reunion this summer!

happy girls.

this is right off of the front patio, a stone for my grandma ada. my mom was the one who decided to have people make these decorative stones, i think we did it as an activity at a reunion one year.

we had a nice time while in oregon and i am glad that we could spend that extra time with my family and be there to help get things done. hopefully we will visit again soon:)
