utah!

at the end of june i snagged a ride once again with jan to utah. so sad that it is zach's last year at efy, i might just have to keep the tradition up even without the efy excuse. anywho, we traveled all day saturday, which is never my favorite, but we made it. paisley actually did pretty dang good on the way there, she took about a 1 hour nap and was pretty happy. it would have been easier if the tv was working and she could have watched muppets....but for some reason, out of the blue, it wasn't playing. oh well. we made it.

so happy to get a short break from trying to entertain this girl.

she slept and i did this:

paisley got to try a whole bunch of new things while in utah on the the way there. whatever keeps her happiest.

her first try of frozen hot chocolate. she loved it and i am pretty sure i once said, "finish your fritos before you get more frozen hot chocolate." yeah i am an awesome mom, i know.

we made it to desiree's and of course i was exhausted but stayed up way to late talking with my roosk girl. sunday we went to church, so nice it is in walking distance. after church we made banana muffins, roosk had never made any type of banana bread....crazy right?? they were perfection, loved them. don't ya love my awesome belt?? i love it!

sunday night was the syme family dinner and family portraits, i felt bad for asking so much of pais in being flexible with her schedule. she was cranky on the ride home, but went to sleep pretty good. roosk ran me over to my aunt deanna and uncle paul's house so that i could borrow a car from them so that i could run errands/shop while she worked. i am so looking forward to the day when roosk is a stay at home mom like me, we will have so much fun!

it was great staying with roosk for so many reasons, but one of them is that we are similar in eating and working out. we had 3 morning workouts planned, slim in 6, 4 mile jog and p90x. these pics are before and after the jog. i hadn't been in a long time, but it felt so good, like my body was craving it. i missed out on p90x because paisley had a horrible night and i was not up for the 5am wake up time. we did totally had fun working out though, i especially loved the run :)

part of the week i went down to orem and stayed with michelle. it was so great to catch up with her and get to see some more of cute little kash. paisley was always super concerned with what kash was doing and if he needed help.

i of course made time while in orem to get my hair done by the fabulous julie kaye. she is awesome. i am so loyal even living in another state.

then, with my newly done perfect hair, we decided to go swimming. we went to the scera in orem which has a huge toddler, walk in area and toys. paisley loved it. i loved it. i so wish we had some cheap, everyday type water parks in san diego.

sadly, this is the only picture i got of michelle, not sure how that happened. kash is such a cutie!

paisley's favorite part was by far the little kid slide. i loved it too, how genius!

it took a little bit for her to get use to the stair situation, but she figured it out and kept on going back for more.

that night paisley and i met up with miles and kendra at ate here:

it was tasty and i totally love getting to meet owen. he is so cute and little. i am so happy for miles and kendra, they are a quality couple. so fun to catch up with them. i miss the four of us hanging out so often, we would go out to eat, play games, watch tv several times a week when we lived in orem.

i of course fit in all types of shopping hitting up these and more: tai pan trading, gardner village, down east basics, down east home, dear lizzie, rod works, roberts, quilted bear, etc... my awesome cousins, niki and megan, who happen to live about 5 minutes from roosk watched pais twice so i could go out, it was great! plus, i had chinese with them one night, love those girls and their fams:)

being utah, there are parks on every corner, friday morning we didn't have a car so pais and i headed over to a local park. she loved it and even made some new friends.

its so great the roosk only works half days on friday. we of course we had to have bajios for lunch, i love it! so tasty! i seriously need one in san diego.

we had major shopping planned for the afternoon, paisley got to spend time with gammie and grandma peterson. we totally only had time for 2 stores, what?? crazy right, but we loved it, hip and humble and koo de ker-both super cute! we finished up shopping and had an early sushi dinner with my bud joshua blade 55. love this guy. so many good times with him. the sushi at mikado was fab, i loved, loved, loved, the special for the night. it was great catching up with joshie, he is so great!

then we picked up pais, put her to bed and were on out way for my last store on the list: hobby lobby. too bad it closed at 8, who closes that early on a friday?? oh well, we drowned our sorrows in a major cheat day for roosk. the stash from target:

if that wasn't enough we decided to make home made chocolate peanut butter ice cream and watched "when in rome." the ice cream was fab. loved it. i organized and packed up all my loot to look as small as possible, even though it totally wasn't.

the ride home was not as good as the the ride there. i think pais really hit her limit. we drove alot that week, stayed in different places, and she was done. it was long, super long. we somehow made it and i think i need to start making more money so next year we can fly for out week visit and rent a car! we love going to utah and seeing our friends and shopping, entil next summer...
