holly and i were pretty beat from our late night so we didn't get a super early start. we rode the subway to midtown and then walked up the upper east side on 5
th ave. it was crazy to see how people live there, red carpets and awnings, so very different from my life. we walked by a a super nice rolls
royce with a
driver sitting in it and noticed that on the passenger door above the handle it was engraved with "ms.
rollins." we made our way up to the
metropolitan museum of art where holly dropped me off so she could
head to work. i spend several hours in the met and loved it.

ever since my european tour i just love museum pictures of little chubbo rich kids and there pets, and this bed was so over the top. i think i would be scared to sleep in it, worried that thing would fall on me!
i throughly enjoyed the ac and completely cooled down before heading back out{did i mention the insane heat??} to listen to some street singers. {can you see me in the drum?}

next, i cut into central park which was much larger then i imagined and just
diddled my way through the bottom half of it. i am pretty sure i heard almost every language in the park, it was great fun to people watch. it was too hot to stay in any one place for very long so i would sit, enjoy for a bit and then move on.

eventually i found the boathouse and ate some much needed ice cream. i met 2 boys hitch hiking from georgia to maine and watched children splash in all the water features.

next i headed to fao swartz to check out all the cool toys and get cool again. of course i had to snap a picture of the plaza as i went by, i love that place. someday i want to stay there. i didn't wait in line to play the big piano, but i did seriously consider making paisley her own custom muppet. it was sweet. but pretty expensive and big. so i decided no. {your welcome chris}

i then walked everywhere, literally up and down and everywhere in between. i popped my head in the temple {luckily it was on the way to
zara} and shopped.

watched some street performers.

ate dinner in the basement of the macy's flagship store{and finally put some make up on!}

met some very friendly legit nyc firefighters.

and finally met up with holly and her bf at a venue somewhere around soho i think to check out one of her favorite bands, built to spill. i loved being able to check out some of the music scene in nyc, since that is such a major part of the city. {so sad but this is about the only good pic that i have of the two of us!}

build to spill, although i wasn't super familiar with a lot of their music, i totally enjoyed the show. the lead singer is a total bobble head when he sings. i know i walked at least 10 miles this day. my feet were trashed and never really recovered for the whole rest of the trip. i should have just been nerdy and kicked it in my nike's! next time...
