dad time

once we got back from utah, paisley has missed her daddy so much that she just wanted to play and play with him. here are a few choice shots of the action:

really not sure what was happening here, but i love paisley's face, so funny!

loving the horsey ride.

your favorite and mine: the cheese ball.

balancing act.

tickle attack.

we love being home with daddy:)

the best

husband. yes, you heard, i have the best husband.

these beauties were waiting for me upon returning from utah. i love chris. he is so wonderful, he is absolutely perfect for me. i could go on and on, but i'll spare you all and just say it again. i love him.

forever.

utah

just when i was starting to make some progress, i am once again about a month behind on my blog...so here it goes again, constantly trying to catch up! just a warning, there are lots of pictures on this post and probably a good amount of journaling too.
at the end of july, paisley and i headed with jan, zach and 2 of zach's buddies to utah. [yes is was a full van, don't worry we busted out the car top carrier] the boys were headed to efy of course and paisley and i went to visit friends and family. the drive was really, really long and it was clear that paisley is getting tired of of her infant seat, but we made it. i was so happy to be getting off at springville and not salt lake city. paisley and i stayed at our friend's the horne's home. it was great! paisley loved playing with amos and maggie and because of that and the abundance of new to her toys, it kinda felt like a break for me too.(imagine that!)
maggie and paisley, such cute ladies:) and of course the cheese ball smile:)

paisley also loved playing with amos, he was mostly friendly, it was good experience for her to learn about sharing.

it was great to stay with laura and spend time watching the kiddos and chit chatting. one day we decided to brave some shops with all three kids. we just barely got all three car seats to fit in the back of her car, amos looked like quite the ladies man.

monday night my good friends miles and kendra came over for some cafe rio take out. it was so great to see them and have then meet paisley officially(she was asleep the last time we saw them). she loved miles.....for about 20 seconds and then she realized she didn't know him. i do love, love the smile picture, that is her true happy smile.

paisley liked kendra, she just had a hard time keeping her eyes open. doesn't kendra look pretty though?? it was great to see them both and to catch up on life.

i am really not sure how i stayed at laura and eric's for the majority of the week and did not get one picture of them, but i did have a great time staying with them, they are wonderful hosts! Most of the week was filled with relaxing, shopping, and chit chatting with friends. i got to stay at desiree's new house for 2 nights, i loved being able to see it and of course visit with her and chuck. paisley had a hard time sleeping in utah, she would go to bed at a decent time, and sleep for 4 hours or so, but then she would wake up and not be laid back in her pack n play. so usually, i would go to bed, get about an hour of sleep and then have to sleep with paisley in the bed with me. aka, trying to get out of her rolling, moving little princess and catch a few winks in between. needless to say, the nights were mostly long, but my body did start to adjust towards the end of the week and i got a bit more sleep. at least she napped well while we were there.
friday i got my hair done(yea! i love julie kaye) and while i did, paisley had a play date with the weavers. it was a bit weird to have the person that i use to nanny for watch my baby, but i think halle and teah loved it and paisley was happy. ps-emily has the most gorgeous children ever, every time i see them i am wowed by how beautiful they are, and super fun, i love these kiddos!

we said funny faces and this is what we got. I HEART TEAH, look at her freeze, emily, desiree and i were rolling over that one:)

one more of just the older girls and me.

after roosk(desiree) and i picked up paisley we went to lunch and bajio[yum, and in case you were wondering this trip helped me to decide that i officially like bajio better then cafe rio] paisley was super tired and fell asleep in her car seat, so we sat and chit chatted, which i LOVE doing with desiree, we always laugh so hard. then, we decided to split one of these beauties from rocky mountain chocolate factory:

roosk was going camping that night [if any of you know roosk, i know this is shocking, but it is true] and didn't have some of the essentials, like a sleeping bag, so we headed to target to get them. once we were done, we decided to have a little photo shoot and dang are we funny. [at least we think so] our first and only normal shot.

paisley probably thinking we are crazy.

here are a few goodies:

paisley loved visiting with roosk. i loved visiting with roosk. we miss her laughter and good times when we are away. hopefully we will see her again soon!

after target, paisley and i headed over to michelle and spencer's to grab some dinner. we had already had lunch with just shell earlier in the week, but we were so happy to get to see her one more time. she is such a cute prego girl [since our visit her healthy baby boy has been born], she was so tiny everywhere but her belly.

outside of zupas with the beautiful momma to be.

jan bought paisley a super cute backpack with her name on it, and while laura and i were out shopping, we found a matching one for maggie. which was great because laura had already had her eye on them, they were so cute with their matching bags.

paisley showing off her smart drinking choice of water, she just loved this water bottle.

after another beastly drive we made it back home, it was a great trip and we were super glad to be back home.

more crafty-ness

you know when you have something coming up and you have planned to work on something weeks in advance and then it just doesn't happen?? that happened to me last month. so 3 days after i got home from mexico, paisley and i embarked on another trip to utah. in those 3 days i created quite a few things for my good friend michelle who is having her first baby boy this month. i loved making all of the things, i just wish i would have had more time to perfect them. first i did a necklace with the initial 'k' for their baby boy's name. this is actually really easy, and was part of a super saturday class for relief society.

next i made some super cute tie onesies, again not hard. my awesome friend tanya has the pattern and tutorial on her blog, check it out. i hope to have a little baby boy some time so that i can make some for him, these are just darling. i also edged the basket in matching material. [gotta love the hot glue gun!]

then i made a fairly easy blanket and matching nursing cover. i was really happy with how the nursing cover turned out, and the blanket looked ok, but i had forgotten how difficult it can be to work with minky type material. i really liked the material i found, it definitely says boy, but still cute for a boy's mom who is feminine to use and like.

lastly, the diaper cake, i just love making these, they are so not hard and look so grand. i had leftover boy ribbon from the last friend's cake, so it was a cinch to just go pick up some diapers.

i love creating things, so much fun for me and a good outlet. anyone have a project i should try??

little miss cheese

lately paisley has taken to giving a really big cheesy smile whenever she shes and camera and many time through out the day. it is so funny how she just turns it on sometimes.
the warm up smile.

almost there.

here it is, check out that dimple! i love that she closes her eyes, so funny!

i forgot to post her 9month appointment stats, these are from the beginning of july:

height: 28 1/2 inches [74%]

weight: 18.15 [46%]

she is growing strong and very healthy, she stands all the time now, shouldn't be long before that first step:)

mexico!

in july we were super lucky to head to mexico for several days to stay at our friends' beach house in baja. chris was able to come everyday after work and get a surf session in and have dinner with everyone, paisley and i enjoyed the lazy days and beautiful weather.
paisley tried the boogie board for the first time, she wasn't sure what to do, but i am sure she will be a natural in the ocean like her papa. grandma jensen and pais enjoying the beach.
bev and jan got some surf lessons from their 2 sons, mike and jason. they are good sports and did pretty dang good. here they are walking out of the ocean and getting instructions.

lately paisley has been doing this one leg up thing, so cute! she is getting more and more stable. i think walking will be soon, i am so excited for that.

paisley hanging out with her pal, chaco and with grandpa watching while she checks out the surf board.

here is my cutie showing off her ruffle tush and rash guard, she was the cutest beach babe there!

overall it was a fun time, but also a lot of work, which i have quickly learned is just how life is for a mom. vacations are usually more work then being at home. we made it, next time lets hope chris can come for the whole time!

rub a dub dub

paisley loves her baths. we use to do her baths in the sink, but quickly learned that she really, really loves to splash. read: me soaked and the kitchen floor soaked. so we decided to move her to the big tub. she loves the freedom of splashing and kicking to her hearts desire. we still keep her in the baby tub so that she has a place to sit, much more stable then the bare big tub.

she loves eating her rubber ducky. look at that cute face, love it!
