momma update

so many of you have been super supportive with everything that has gone on with my mom this year and i wanted to share what has been going on for that past month. as you know we went to walt disney world at the beginning of the month, my mom has always dreamed of going there and i am so happy that we could fulfill her dream. she did pretty well until thursday of the trip, which was all day epcot. my dad and her stayed at epcot almost until closing, seeing everything. when they got back to the resort, i was asking her what she liked best and what she had for dinner and she was having a really hard time remembering her day. My dad said that she had been like that for a bit and it was apparent that something was wrong. It was really, really hot, it could be part dehydration, part heat stroke, not sure. she asked me the same thing several times that day, she just wasn't herself. she was happy though and slept well that night.
friday morning she had dialysis and was doing pretty well, talking as good as she had since the february strokes. so my family flew to oregon, saturday morning my mom was not doing well-she could not remember basic things like how to transfer from the bed to her wheelchair, etc...so my dad took her into the hospital and after tests the doctors confirmed that she has had another stroke. they couldn't determine when it was, but her memory loss was severe and her talking was back to not very good. my mom stayed in the hospital for a bit and then was moved to a nursing care facility last week. they told her that she would be there maybe 3 weeks, so i would guess maybe 4-6 weeks--because with my mom it is ALWAYS longer and harder. she is back to physical therapy and speech therapy. she really isn't talking too well, words are hard for her to say and i think it is super frustrating for her.
what has been hardest for me is that she does not have a phone in her room and her cell phone does not get service in her room, so i don't get to talk to her near as often as i am use to.
my mom is my best friend
when i was single we talked everyday, once i was married we talked every other day or several times a week. i am so use to being able to talk to her and get her advice, her knowledge and her comfort in my life. last week i had a hard time, especially when she is not well, i like talking to her for the reassurance that i get that she is ok, i was really struggling with not being able to talk to her, crying a lot and feeling down. thankfully i have a great friend that while i was venting, suggested i start writing her letters. i have started and it really helps because i tell her all that i would if we were talking, it makes me feel more connected to her. i haven't been able to talk to her yet to see if she has started to get my letters, but i am hoping that she can feel more connected to me too. so i am feeling better and my mom is slowing getting better. thanks for all the support and prayers, it is much appreciated.
ps-yesterday we had an offer excepted on a house! will keep you updated on that exciting news!

walt disney world

hey look at me, i am blogging about something that happened in may while it is still may-yahoo! so at the beginning of this month, we headed to orlando for vacation with my family. WARNING: i could not decide which photos to share, so there are about 3 times too many in this post, also there will probably be a lot of journaling. paisley is always helping, she even helped chris pack for the trip.

we had a long travel day, but it wasn't too bad becuase paisley had her own seat the entire time-thank you southwest airlines-i heart them. whenever they have an extra seat they will give it to you for free for your child. every flight i have had with paisley this year, they had given me a free seat-it is great! paisley slept about half of the flight, which was great. especially since she didn't go to sleep until 1am the first night, 12 the second night and 11pm the thrid night. after that she was so tired she would crash at 6 or 7, but then usually wake up early-yeah for time changes. can i just mention that florida is crazy hot, i am not cut out for that kind of weather-it was only 80's but it felt like it was in the 100's.

we got in saturday night and stayed at chris's cousins house. sunday we went to church and got some groceries for the week and then checked into the resort. it was a great resort-we had a 3 bedroom, and it had a full kitchen and dining room. sunday night my family arrived and we all had dinner together-my nephews and niece have gotten so big! monday we played around the resort, there were several pools, playgrounds, a lazy river, and mini golf-seriously loved it.
monday night we headed over to the magic kingdom for the light parade, walt disney world is crazy huge, i can't really explain it you just gotta see it to know the massive scale that it is. here we are waiting for the parade, we didn't quite get paisley in the shot.

my beautiful sister in law and cute baby tristan, how can he almost be a year old already?!?
tuesday afternoon we headed back to the magic kingdom, splash mountain was great, and we got to have the very front seats. we were soaked, but you could hardly tell by the time we got off the ride-welcome to florida. even my mom got to go, scotty did an amazing job of helping/lifting her from ride to wheelchair. i am so glad that she got to go on so many rides, it was her dream to go to walt disney world and she was able to do alot of the rides with scott's help.

the kids love to play in the fountains, and we went to the bug show-which is always fun, it was a little too dark and loud for paisley, we had to exit early. ethan showing off the 3-d bug glasses.

we took a ride on the train, paisley loved standing like a big girl. she really just started doing it more on the trip. i think seeing tristan walking around really motivated her to do more.
grandpa and paisley-co cute!
can't remember the name of this ride, it is a boat ride through the jungle, the kids loved it and we got to sit in the shade, perfect!

any opportunity to get wet we took, it was nice to have lots of fountains and little water areas to help keep cool, paisley mostly loved them, but they did take her by surprise. happy parents in front of the castle.
wednesday after my mom got back from dialysis we spent the afternoon in the animal kingdom-it was sweet! everest was probably my favorite ride, which chris, me and my dad did together. we also went to africa and did the safari which was really cool and my dad really enjoyed because he served his mission in africa. ethan being cute with grandma and scott with his two oldest.

scotty is a good dad, little rylie was so tired by the end of the day, that she just conked out and he held her for the whole thing.

more safari fun.

we thought about buying paisley some mickey ears, but then decided against have something that will just sit on a shelf and gather dust, but we did take some pictures to prove to her that she has been to walt disney world. she was too hot to pose.

thursday was epcot. scott and jill went back to the magic kingdom because that is more kid friendly and chris and i only spent and partial day while my parents stayed there all day. epcot was having a special spring flower celebration or something, and had a lot of disney characters made from flowers, it was cool.

the epcot symbol is bigger then i imagined, you can see chris walking at the bottom of the picture.

poor paisley, after 4 days of walt disney world magic, she was just exhausted. this is how she looked as we were leaving epcot, so sad.

thursday afternoon we had some more pool time, we loved floating the lazy river, i have some video from the pool that i will post soon.

paisley and tristan playing in the room.

friday morning chris and i hit hollywood studios just for an hour and two. we loved the rockin rollar coaster and hollywood tower of terror was fun too.

friday afternoon we had to say goodbye to my family, it was hard. i hate leaving them and not being able to see them more often. my dad drove us over to chris's cousins house where we stayed one more night. they had actually been gone for about 6 weeks and just got in late friday night, we got to see them for a little on friday night and a little on saturday morning. clark and tiffany were great hosts. paisley showing off her knees after her first trampoline experience, and playing with cousin eli-she loves other kiddos her size.
all in all we had a great trip, it was wonderful to be with them. my mom did ok, i will post more of what happened with her/what is happening with her soon. i am glad to be back in san diego-i am so use to the perfect weather, anything else is a challenge:)

weaver fam in town

last month emily and the kiddos came to visit and of course paisley and i went to see them and andrea for an afternoon. andrea and i had a hard time taking a picture, we are always laughing too much....

beautiful halle and teah with my little sweetie.

hazel and jack playing with paisley, she held her own pretty well...mostly she just loves being around other kids that are close to her size.

jack and hazel celebrated their 2nd birthday while we were there and andrea made a sweet rainbow cake for them-she is so fun.

blowing out the candles.

i feel like we just barely celebrated their one year birthday, the time has flown by. those two are so cute and i always love to see them and the girls and of course emily!

right after the one year party, they have gotten so big!

what paisleys been up to...

mostly paisley has been busy just being dang cute. here is one of my favorite spring outfits for her:

this picture is several weeks old and now she has two little teeth on the bottom and a whole row coming in on the top--crazy!

paisley loves to play with any and all boxes that come into the house, this one was just big enough for her to sit in and get a ride, she wasn't so sure at first, but then decided she loved it.

paisley gets herself into the funniest of situations, how she does it, i do not know...

she has also been very busy sucking on her toes, yep, you heard me. she uses her big toes as binkies sometimes--it is so funny! love that smile.

she has also been busy sunglass shopping, hello, summer is coming!

pretty sure being paisley's mom is the best job in the world. word.
