election

most of you know about prop 8 in california, we have really been focused for the past few months on doing what we can to get it to pass. personally i think this election year is a scary one, especially now that i have a precious child that i want to protect. with the election almost here i just want to urge you to vote if you haven't yet and to go here for more information on prop 8. now is the time to stand for what we believe in and to create a safe future for our families.

one of my good friend's made pumpkin templates and her brother carved these. i think they are sweet. i will be glad when the election is over and we can all move on with our lives, lets hope that our voices are heard.

2 steps forward, 3 steps back

this seems to be the pattern with my little paisley. we had a great weekend, then we have a not great weekend. paisley picked up a stomach bug-and let me just say that a sick 5 week old is tough. we did the best we could and somehow survived, the late night trip to the store for pedialyte helped and lucky me paisley decided 3am-7am was the perfect time to spend with mommy-that was fun. of course in classic paisley style, since the bad weekend, she has been doing better. (last night i slept 7 hours! not all together, but still it was nice) of course we had friends visiting from vegas during all this, i am so glad that they came and are still friends with us after the not so fun weekend!

charles and becky's little girl, audrey-she is so cute! she totally smiles for the camera-she is a doll. it was so fun to get to spend even a little bit of time with my rexburg roomie becky, we talked mom stuff most of the time and just had a good time catching up. luckily, they were able to go do some fun san diego stuff, even if we couldn't join them. we love having visitors--the weather is still nice, so come and visit!

not my best picture, but i had to put one up with becky and i. can i just vent for one moment?? i am SO tired of not feeling like me, not being active and generally feeling icky about myself--i usually feel pretty good about myself, but since birth i haven't gotten it back yet. next monday marks 6 weeks and i am really hoping to somehow fit in working out and a little more me time-i need it! in other paisley news, we went to the dr on monday to check on the stomach bug and are happy to report that she now weighs 10 lbs 11 oz! she has gained exactly the right amount of weight keeping her in the 75th percentile. we are currently doing some food testing to see if the dairy or chocolate is bothering her. no dairy is not my favorite, i have found some ok soy substitutes, but if it turns out to the the chocolate i am not sure how i will survive!

glorious weekend

this weekend paisley made some big steps. and it was wonderful. first, friday night i was able to get her to sleep long enough to shower and curl my hair-it was great to get really ready for once. we went out to eat with chris's family(where paisley sat so nicely in her car seat-this is MAJOR, she has not liked her car seat at all in the past-things are getting better!) i wore jeans and pumps-it was heavenly! something about jeans and pumps makes me feel invincible and my wedding ring finally fits again. i have been trying it on everyday since giving birth and was really starting to worry that it would never fit again, and seriously almost teared up when it fit.

friday night paisley slept for a 5 hour stretch and then saturday night she slept for a 4 hour stretch, it was awesome! (of course last night didn't go as well, but we are taking baby steps) chris snapped this picture of her on our bed, she is so precious.

here are a few pictures of our blue eyed beauty on the way the aguiar houshold to visit the weaver family. i am really, really hoping that she keeps her blue eyes, i have found having blue eyes to be very useful in my life! ( i am already starting to train chris so he won't fall prey to her big blue eyes)

so emily drove in from utah with the kiddos and boy was it great to visit with all of them. hazel remembered me and kept coming up to me and putting her hands up so i would pick her up. it was just what i needed, funny how a little 18 month old validated me and made me feel special and loved.

mr jack is huge! he is a man child and i love him!

i really loved the year that i spent working with emily and the twins, i miss all the chaos and craziness and the friendship that em and i have. it was so nice to get to see her and for her to get to see paisley. she is great and we always had so much fun, not to mention how much i learned about childcare/being an awesome mom.

of course it was also great to see teah and halle-these two cute girls are crazy fun and teah makes everyone feel special-she said she loved me about 5 times-so sweet! check out how naturally tan halle is, she is a beauty-it was great to see them.

lastly, we made it to church for the first time! it was only for an hour, but we did it and it felt like total success, heres hoping for more weekends like this one:)

kissy face

lately paisley has been making a kissy face at us, which i learned from the infant chiropractor(yes, paisley has been to the chiropractor and she is starting to do better) shows that something in her neck or back is out. that is no good, but the face she makes is super cute. here she is warming up for it.

and here is the full blown kissy face, she is so cute!

chris likes to play kissy face with her, paisley loves hanging out and playing with daddy.

new purchase for the week: swing. we are trying whatever we can to comfort paisley that isn't in someones arms. don't get me wrong we love to hold her, its just that if i am lucky i get a shower by 3 or 4 in the afternoon and getting something to eat is also practically impossible if i am by myself. so far the swing works ok, she won't stay in it very long, but long enough for me to grab a sandwich, which is great!

here are a few bath shots, paisley really does love the water and is generally satisfied with just chillin in her tub.

i am loving having paisley, it is a ton of work and sometimes i feel like i can't do it, but i keep trying and keep going. feeding paisley has been a real struggle and she just isn't like most other newborns that i hear about as far as sleeping all the time goes.(like graham) she usually goes the whole morning or afternoon without a nap(not because i don't try to get her to take one!) she just likes to be held and i am trying to keep her happy. i am excited to feel like myself again, lately i feel like i am just going through the motions. i am so excited to exercise in a few weeks and hopefully with a few more dr appointments paisley will be eating better then ever which in turn will help her be happier and sleep more. so that's what is going on for us. just trying to enjoy this time and get anything more then 4 hours of sleep a night!

paisley out and about

last friday, we had a special visit from andrea. paisley loved meeting one of my best buds and i had a good time catching up and having some one to talk to!

paisley isn't so keen on the girlfriend pictures yet and i look like a 15 year old.

friday night we watched the byu game at jason & jamie's--game not that exciting, but awesome to do some thing social with friends and the pat and oscars and homemade oreos sure didn't hurt!

paisley all dressed up for the broadcast last night.

with grandma and grandpa jensen at island's for dinner. she did pretty good, it was still a lot of effort and today i don't want to leave the house, but we did it.

a gorgeous bouquet of flowers and

yummy, yummy, yummy fruit and nutella crepes from the saturday market. it was wonderful, and then in the afternoon when paisley and i took a nap, he cleaned the kitchen! he is so awesome, i totally won with him:)

lets hear it for moms

yesterday my wonderful mother left. she was here for just under 3 weeks, and it was heaven! the time that she was here really flew by, she did so much for us and chris and i really loved having her here. she cooked, sewed, cleaned, and basically waited on me hand and foot. i love my mama! jan has also been amazing to us. constantly getting things at the store, running errands, coming over to hold paisley so i can do other things and so much more. chris and i feel so lucky to both have such rad moms, they have been a HUGE blessing to us these past few weeks and we love them bunches!

jan is always the one taking the pictures so i don't have any with her and paisley, i will have to get some and post them. here are a few of the princess from this week, we just love those cheeks!

our little cuddle bug, she loves to sleep with her tush in the air

i think the flash scared her a little bit! she is so funny.
