i love living in san diego. i love how green everything is in the spring. i love how much joy paisley gets from one quick trip to the park.

this day she needed a purse with her at the park.

she got quite rosy with all that playing.

we took a picnic dinner and ate it by the lake, and then fed the ducks. paisley loves chasing the ducks, wonder where she got that from???

family bday dinner

the sunday before my birthday we celebrated with the jensen's. ava and paisley are still fascinated with angry birds and kept chris busy.

i totally took a picture of the scrumptious salmon we had, but for some reason it won't email it to me, so you will just have to use your imagination. it is my MOST favorite home cooked meal from the jensen's, the salmon is cooked on a wood plank and it is perfection. i love it.

on my actual birthday i got these beauties delivered from my friend ellie-so cute right?? they were massive! it was a great birthday:)

the boll weevil

so one saturday night, the jensen's decided to come to our neck of the woods for dinner. we happen to have a burger joint just down the street from our house called the boll weevil. it is small town, family run goodness. on saturday nights, they have karaoke, so of course after our meal we sang a few. i love the jensens!

chris started it off with piano man. that is a long song, luckily for us, chris has a great voice.

zach was next, he busted out get back by the beatles-love that one.

paisley loved to dance to the music, and recruited everyone to dance with her.

robin was next, and sadly i had to leave early to attend the young women's broadcast. we are for sure going back for more karaoke soon-so much fun!

my golden birthday

last month i had my golden birthday. i turned 28 on the 28th, so i threw myself a little shindig. i love parties, it was totally fun to plan, i decided on a night of favorites. here are the random highlights:

i really wanted to do lots of cool decor like i see on all the blogs i follow-it wasn't all that i wanted, but it turned out pretty cute. this is the entrance sign and the cupcakes-all the food that was served were my favorites, the cupcakes being banana with peanut butter frosting-insane!

we had the cupcakes, lemon water, chips, sugar cookies, strawberries, apples and nutella and gumballs and chocolate-all my favorites! I tried to do a lot of gold, but that can be tricky so I went with torqouise as the accent color.

we had a great time, i was laughing so hard i was crying, which means a total success of a party in my book! i had a favorite things questionnaire that each gal filled out and then i read them and we guessed who wrote them, it turned out to be quite a funny event.

elizabeth is reading the last question that i put on there as a joke, but everyone answered anyways: your favorite thing about deveney. i wish i would have kept those papers, it was be a great pick me up to re-read them on down days.

the sign for the favorite thing exchange. each guest brought a favorite thing and then left with someone elses' favorite thing.

the party favor was a cd with some some of my favorite songs, it was super tough to narrow it down and make a selection! the group shot.



after everyone left, elizabeth, annemichelle and victoria stuck around and we laughed some more. i love these girls and feel so very lucky to have them as friends.

all in all, a super fun night. i totally recommend throwing yourself a party for any reason you can think of!
