nyc: day 3

i slept in a bit on day 3, i was so dead tired from staying out and walk, walk, walking the day before. after sleeping in and taking a cold shower, i braved the subways all by myself and i am so excited to report that i did very well and only called chris a few times for help. {thank goodness for google maps!}

i got off and immediately was hit with the heat. it was so insanely, sickly, hot this day. i totally missed my high school tank tops and short shorts, but did the best i could with a high bun, dress and no make up, because hello, it would have just melted anyways. i loved seeing older buildings and the cool architectural details they have, like this bloomingdale's.

i was on my way to serendipity when i spotted this:

dylan is ralph lauren's daughter and her shop is a total delight! i wanted to buy and eat everything, but is was super crowded so i jetted pretty quick. {i loved the candy in the flooring!}
next stop was serendipity, i was so stoked to have the original frozen hot chocolate. surprise, surprise, it was totally packed too, luckily, being a single diner, they seated me right away upstairs. i loved the whimsical and fun decor, it was all so pretty.

i opted for the peanut butter frozen hot chocolate when i was referred to it from a busboy and it did not disappoint. it was HUGE, luckily i had already chosen just a side salad to go with it. perfect lunch in my opinion!

don't worry though, it wasn't so huge that i couldn't practically finish it. it was lovely to people watch and write in my journal while there. i really did enjoy being by myself, it was great alone time and totally fun.

next was back to the subway and down to canal street and soho for shopping! i can't believe that i didn't take any pictures while at canal street, but it was fun. i scored a crossbody bag, 2 watches, a bracelet, and there was so much more that i would have loved to get, but i didn't want to go overboard at the very start of my trip.
next was this place:

it was all i had hoped for, it was fantastical. i spent entirely too much time and money there, but hey, it is the only topshop in the usa, i had to take advantage! i loved walking down the streets of soho and checking out all the fun stores and boutiques, so many great things there-i loved it.

after a full afternoon of shopping{and walking} my feet were feeling beat so i found the closest food{happened to be a subway} and plopped down with my feet up for some dinner. holly got off work and met me there and we headed to the brooklyn bridge.

it was great to walk the bridge at night and see all the lights. so breathtaking and just something else on my dream things to do in nyc list that i can cross off. on the way home we were lucky to be entertained by a very talented young man on our subway, we tried to make a pit stop for some famous magnolia cupcakes, but apparently they don't keep the same crazy hours that we do. bummer.

it was another lovely day in nyc and fun evening with holly. chris and family were arriving in the morning so we hit the sack pretty quick once we got home.

It all sounds so fun! I think we should set up a girls' trip to somewhere fun somewhere soon.
