creating

for Easter this year, i got the create bug and got busy to make something cute for miss paisley to wear. i started with making felt flowers, i love this look and they are super easy to make, i did 2 for her dress and one for her hair on a clip.

i was trying to not spend too much money, so i took a dress that was given to us by chris's cousin last summer and fits paisley perfect right now. it is a basic, white with silver thread dress with a a super cute tiered cut.

i found 3 different super cute prints that worked with my color scheme and started ruffling. it was my very first time making ruffles and i was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. i will definitely be adding more ruffles to things in the future. here is layer one and layer two:

i was originally just going to pin up the dress in one part, but then decided i liked the ruffles so much and wanted them to show more, so i went with 3 different pinned areas. i sewed the ruffles right to the lining, so it was pretty dang quick and easy-love that.

a close up of the three ruffles:

i added the 3 felt flowers to a ribbon and made little belt loops at the side of the dress to hold it in place and then added a rhinestone to the gap sandals that we got and viola, the Easter outfit is complete:

i am super happy with how it turned out, i usually dream up some idea and it turns out about half as cute as i imagined it, but this is just as cute if not cuter then i thought-yea!

Very cute! Learning to sew is on my list of things to do...I wish you were closer to teach me (because I am sure that would be so fun for you!).

Wow! I am way impressed. It's adorable! My mom is giving me her old (but way nice) sewing machine and I'm hoping to learn how to sew and get crafty. I wish you lived closer to teach me the ropes!
